HI,

I hv a AMD 480 Socket 939 motherboard with 3000+ AMD processor. While booting linux is not able to detect Sound card, and while manually detecting , the message is appearing "sound-0 slot-0 not found".
Also /dev/sndstat is not working .

Please suggest.

Are the jumpers on the MB and the BIOS set to enable onboard sound? Or is it a PCI card?

Hi , the card is on board. I hv not checked the jumper settings but the sound s fine in XP as I hv triple boot ( Windows XP, Red Hat enterprise, PC Quest 2004 Linux). The same error is coming in all the Linux.
