Question 3.5 mm jack only detecting audio and not microphone.

My problem is that when I want to plug in my earphones, it only detects the earphones but not the microphone.

- I am using Linux Mint (Ulyssa).
- My laptop has only one jack.
- Back then when I used Windows, the microphone was detected, so I know it can be handled.
- I've tried this method but didn't work. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx33W-c4Cmg)

Any solutions?

Seems like a PulseAudio issue with not detecting the microphone. This post has some solutions, https://askubuntu.com/questions/6745...top-microphone
but try some of the others before you do the purge and reinstall.

Unhappy

Hey, thanks for your reply.
I have tried everything from this post but, not even reinstalling PulseAudio, fixed my problem.
