What files can a virus be in?


What are the file extensions a virus can be in? Is there too many to name? I know .exe but can it install its self into .mp3, .avi, .mpg.... You know the main media files?

Well, if you were talking about a Linux-virus
it most likely wouldn't have an extension :)

As for DOS/winDOHs it's exe com dll ovl
(maybe a few other kinds of executables)
and all MS office document type (doc, xls, ppt,
... ) extensions. then of course vbs, ocx, ...

But we're Linux users, so we don't have
to worry about those :}

Maybe you are just curious, or maybe you are overly cautious, but you are definitely not asking your questions very well...

You want to know about virii (viruses);
you want to know how to block your ISP from seeing you...

Anything you'd like to let us all in on?
