Total Time of Audio Playlist

I often record audio CDs. I normally add the tracks I want as wav files to an mplayer playlist to listen to it through and adjust order before burning.

Bearing in mind the 80 minutes limit on CDs is there an easy way to calculate when I've got 80 minutes of music in this playlist, preferably using either mplayer or some other command line utility?

With WAV you can just take a rule of thumb to be 10 MB disk space used / (per) 1 minute of audio. So for 80 min disk, max 800 MB of wav files.
