Amarok will only play 1 file at a time on playlist
Hi,
When I have a playlist with more than 1 song on, amaroK will only play one song at a time, I have to manually select the next song.
Clearly there is an option I haven't selected but which one?
Mat

This is a known issue with a particular version of Amarok(1.3.5 as I recall) with a particular engine(gstreamer I think). Upgrading to 1.3.8 fixes the problem, so does changing the engine.

I looked to see what version I was using and it was version 1.3.1
I will look at the amarok site and get the latest upload.

I went to the AmoraK website and downloaded the latest version (1.4). For some reason it keeps going back to the old version (1.3.1). Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Which RPM did you install with? From the Guru repository with YAST? or did you just download it and install it. Try setting up Guru as a repo, disable all the others, then open YAST and use it to "upgrade" Amarok.

I had exactly the same problem. You are probably using that Helix engine or something like that. I don't remember exactly what it's called.
Change the engine to something else. I installed and switched to Lame and that worked perfectly.

I tried to delete AmaroK completely and then install it from YAST using packman but still I got the same version.
So how do I change the engine?

Okay, using YAST... you have to delete all amarok and related files, including amarok xine, gstreamer, etc.
Then you add the pacman repo to YAST as a repository(see sticky at top of this forum), and install via YAST, not download RPM and install(yes, sometimes it actually does matter, don't ask, I have no freaking clue).
As for changing engine, it is in the preferences for amarok, just use the menua and change the output engine. You have gstreamer, xine, helix and possibly others to choose from.

So I added the packman as an installation source and I search for amaroK and it came back "no results". I am sure it worked before. Any suggestions

Make it be the only one "enabled" and make sure you have refresh on.

Well... You could try using guru, that is the one I used for all my amarok and amarok requirements...
