The problem of connecting to the Internet.

I have a new computer. I successfully installed Mandriva. It works fine.

Then I removed it and installed openSUSE 10.2. It works fine.

I removed it and installed Fedora 7. It works fine.

The problem is none of the above mentioned operating system failed to recognize the network card. I can't go to the Internet with this particular computer because it doesn't recognize network card.

1. It has a built in network card.

2. I inserted two additional network cards because I want to use it as a server. One to go to the Internet and to the other one for a network.

Generally the built in network cards are not so good. That is why I bought two separate cards and inserted.

I guess the operating systems I installed are not for servers; just for a desktop computer.

By the way, I can afford to remove and install different Linux distros as I am experimenting to a certain extent.
Now I kept that computer aside until I solve the problem.

I want to read your thoughts.

Thanks Nylex

I have never used lspci command. Now I just looked for it on Google.
I will use it inform you later. Not at the moment of writing because that computer is disconnected.

The command 'lspci' will tell you about all the pci devices.
Please keep a good watch on this thread.
