rpms labelled devel

Hi
what is the difference between rpms labelled devel and normal one ? For eg: for pciutils , I have two rpms, one named pciutils .version.rpm and the other one being pciutils-devel.version.rpm. Same is the case for others too...

What is the main difference ?

the -devel contains code headers and other files that allow source code to be compiled against it. when you live purely at rpm level they are of no interest. if you wish to compile code from source you may need certain ones for other packages the new code uses.
