"Multiple devices on your system are labelled /..." error while trying to upgrade FC3

hi i got this error while trying to upgrade FC3 to FC4.

Code:
Multiple devices on your system are
      labelled /. Labels across devices
must be unique for your system to
      function properly.

Please fix and restart the installion.
I have two harddrives. both have two partions. hda1 is root for my FC3 install and hda2 is swap. hdb is a smaller driver that i just installed ubuntu on to try out. hdb1 is root for ubuntu and hdb2 is another swap. How do i fix this problem? How do i change the label? Do i use a partitioner to change the label? I'd change the ubuntu root label because im not keeping it on my system long. Any help would be appreciated. thanks for replies in advance.

i believe what i have to do is use e2label from what i've research. If i change the label of hdb would the mountpoint still be /? Would i still be able to boot into Ubuntu or would i have to edit my grub config? thanks for any replies in advance.
