problem mounting winXP share on Fedora.C2

XP host name : client1
client1 IP : 192.168.2.100
smb share name : \\client1\linux-src

desired mount point : /mnt/smb_client1

Code:
mount //192.168.2.100/linux-src /mnt/smb_client1 -t smbfs -o username=[uname],password=[passwd]
2828: session setup failed: Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000 milliseconds
SMB connection failed
one thing i did noticed is that when i use mount //client1/... i get
Quote:
2834: Connection to client1 failed
SMB connection failed
also i can't ping client1 but i can ping 192.168.2.100 (client1 ip)
the machine (client1) is pingble from another w2k3 machine on the same subnet.

what's my mistake ?

[edit]
also is it normal that in my /proc/filesystems file there is no record for smbfs ?

another one bytes the dust!

the problem was with the NIC it self, in spite of it replaying to ping (didn'y lost even 1 pocket & i pinged it to icmp=10000) it was getting cold feet passing smb traffic (i guess he ain't a windows fan also) any way i replaced it with a brand new NIC & now it mount's flawlessly, well all most i still get this odd messages :
Quote:
2615: session request to 192.168.2.100 failed (Called name not present)
2615: session request to 192 failed (Called name not present)
but i can access the share & get my mysql-4.0.20.tar.gz tarball without a problem, yipppi

b.t.w
* a tip guys : if you're trying to mount a w2k3 smb share, be sure to disable it's "smb signing-required" through "group policy" otherwise linux wouldn't be able to comunicate with it, or at least i don't know of a way to make it communicate that way - found that while i was tested the mount command on my other win machine.

** one more : when you send it(windows) a password it authenticates using it's local SAM, i do not know of a way to make it do domain authentication even though the computer is a windows kerberos domain member.

love linux, you guys rock !
