I am having problems prining photos with gimp 2.0 in Mandrake 10.1. Its been 3 years since I switched to linux and this is the first time I am stumped. I have a Lexmark Z53 printer. The image was scanned using both XSANE and Kooka with an epson 1650 scanner. The problem is that when I print the image its to light (not enough ink coverage) I even upped the density. The image was scanned at 300 dpi. Its a 5x7 photo. Even an image I did not scan comes out to light. Its not as light but it could be darker. My print command is lpr -s -dLEXMARKZ53 I have to quality settings set to high quality.
I had this same setup working in mandrake 10.0 with an older version of gimp. this problem started after I installed 10.1. I can connect this printer to my wifes win2k system and its fine.
