Question Linux graphics apps

Any suggestions for a high-end (a la Photoshop [sorry for the Win reference]) Linux graphics app?

The apps that come with RH7.1 look good on the screen, but when you print them (HP 4500 color laser), they tend to lose lighting accents on rendered images.

TIA

Bob

well, you're not gonna beat the gimp really, which i presume is the app you mean. Your problem is down to the printer drivers, which is nothign to do with the application you're using.

the only other graphics app i'm aware of is http://www.idruna.com photogenics, but it's not gpl, so costs a chunk.

The Gimp is the closest thing you'll get to Adobe Photoshop(R). Be sure to check out the additional plugins you can download. Gimp is always being updated and will outfeature photoshop one day.

To get your printer working well with the gimp you should also install cups and gimp-print.
