installing subversion perl

Hi

I am trying to install subversion-perl to fix some svn dependencies issues. My svn is version 1.7.7 and I downloaded the subversion-perl-1.7.4-0.1.el6.rfx.x86_64.rpm, this gave me compatibility issues, but i havent found the subversion-perl package 1.7.7., I also can't use yum because i have a problem with my repository and is easier for me to download the package directly.

I did found subversion-perl-1.7.14-10.el7.x86_64 RPM. But my questions is would it work a higher package version in my svn 1.7.7?? Could it cause any issues if I install a higher package version??

Thanks in advance

You don't say what distro and version.

Packages with "el6" in the name would be appropriate for RHEL6 and derived distros of that such as CentOS6 and OEL6.

Packages with "el7" in the name would be appropriate for RHEL7 and derived distros of that.

Generally speaking you're not going to have much luck installing a package designed for one major release of RHEL on another because the package assumes a fair number of other things that will all be for the major release. You'd end up having to force your RHEL6 system to be RHEL7 (which is possible but not trivial to do). You'd be far better off reinstalling as RHEL7 and going that route.

You don't say what your issue with repository is. If you have a subscription for RHEL then you can get RedHat support to help you figure it out.
