update to redhat 5.8 failed with perl(File::Path) is needed by (installed) subversion

I am trying to update redhat 5.5 to 5.8 but get the following error

Running rpm_check_debug
ERROR with rpm_check_debug vs depsolve:
perl(File::Path) is needed by (installed) subversion-tools-1.6.16-1.x86_64
perl(File::Path) is needed by (installed) subversion-tools-1.6.16-1.x86_64
Complete!

does anyone know how to get over this ?

I take it you are not aware that in the older legacy 5 series that the current is RHEL 5.10

you will want you upgrade to that

yum upgrade 

 /* or this */

yum --releasever=5.10 upgrade
