instaled 2.6, now gone back to 2.4.x - but have no sound!

long story short:
Installed 2.6 kernel through some rpm's for fedora (me = noob). And couldnt get my video drivers and network card to work, and i dont really feel like playing around with anything in the next few days/weeks so ive gone back to 2.4.x kernel for the time being, but i have no sound!

ok, i removed the line "alias sound-slot-0 es1371" from /etc/modules.conf and rebooted, then ran 'Soundcard Detection' from the gnome menu and i have sound. I suppose it will do for now
