Question Has anyone ever instaled Linux on an old Compaq Aero 8000

I ran across several old Compaq Aero 8000's with Windows CE. I was thinking of just putting them in the trash or trying to sell them on Ebay. But, I thought it would be cool to see if I could get Linux installed on it. I could use them with a very basic Linux functionality or even just as dumb terminals that I could use with SSH.

I did some searches on google and found only one entry from 2001 regarding such and found that the Aero 8000 uses an EC3104 chipset.

So, it would be cool if anyone can give me a point in the right direction as to where I might find some help or more information on howto. (or, if it is even possible)

Later,
Matthew

I have Linux on an AERO 33C not sure what the difference is. The screen is too small and has little memory. X does work but the start button takes up half the screen. Some tweeking and wmaker should work.

The good thing is you can almost fit it into your shirt pocket.

It makes a good conservation piece, or paper weight.

They are sort of neat, but Ebay would be the place to off them, and use the loot to grab a more capable Linux-friendly laptop. Good score on your part if they were free or cheap.
