Ide?

I have been put on linux projects at work. We have plenty of legacy C++ code that I need to step into from a higher leverl for variable watching purposes. My question is "what is a good IDE for this?". I have kdevelop installed, but find it less than friendly to use.

What do yall' recommend? I know there are varied opinions. Right now I'm using terminal and vim and moving at a glacial speed. Help me melt!

Eclipse should be able to fill your needs, and has plug ins for a variety of languages.

Did you try to find similar thread? This question was asked and answered at least dozen times, I'm absolutely sure that you could find a lot of IDE comparisons and recommendations with any search engine.

I'd recommend vim, jedit or kate + "gnu make" or scons for compiling projects. Or read this and do google search on the subject.
