Hello, I'm a proud owner of a soyo sy p4i875p platinum edition dragon 2. Ide 3 and 4 are on a hpt (highpoint)372 ide raid controller. Ide 3 has a seagate 120gb drive attached and being used as a backup drive for ide1, which is on a intel controller. I'm wondering if I can just umount ide3 (hde...) and remove it from the RUNNING system as to keep my backups offline (dislike shutting down just to remove a drive). The drive is in a removable tray. The hpt372 supports hotswapping too, maybe this is only a raid thingy though? What's your alls thought on this? Oh, mandrake 9.2 2.4.22-26mdkcustom.
bests,
