Now why would you think that Linux is for pissed off people at Windows? I don't use Linux cause I am pissed off at Windows, I use it cause its better. Now there are I can say that move over cause they are mad at Windows, but those I won't comment on.

It is possible to install all three operating systems on one disk. The problem you will run into is that linux swap and solaris use the same partition id (82?).

Currently my home PC has Windows 2k, Redhat 7.2, and Solaris 8 x86 all running on separate partitions with Solaris 8 boot manager running everything. This was pretty tricky and I accomplished it in steps over a period of 6 months to a year (not all at once). Basically the steps were as follows;

1. Install Linux. During installation, partition the disk as follows (using no extended/logical);
Partition 1 - Windows
Partition 2 - Linux
Partition 3 - Linux Swap (big enough to hold Solaris)
Partition 4 - Linux Swap (@ 2 times memory)

(The order can be different, the only requirement is that the Linux Swap partition # for the solaris installation should be lower than the actual Linux swap partition (2 x memory). This is a solaris limitation.)

2. boot into Linux and change the swap configuration to only use the normal size swap partition.

3. obtain boot.exe program from the net and use it to copy the linux boot sector to a file on a floppy drive. (do a google search for the instructions for this, they are out there).

4. install windows 2k, this will hijack the boot manager from lilo/grub to ntldr or whatever the heck they use.

5. boot into windows and copy the boot sector file from the floppy to the C:\ drive. Then modify the boot.ini file to include the linux boot sector. Something like the following
c:\bootsect.lin="<Flavor> Linux"

6. Install Solaris which will also hijack the boot sector.

This is the quick version. If I had more time I would write more detail. If you need specifics let me know and I will see if I can help you.
