grub's comand promt... helllp!!!!!


ok i was asked to clean up an old computer and put windows back on it i deleted and formated the linux partition from windows unfourntly part of the grub info was on the lin partiton basicly what im asking ishow the heak do i boot this dang thing i need to boot in to hda1 what comand do i punch in

or if any one can sugest a good live cd with wich i can restore orginal boot options or put a boot loader on this thing it would be much apreciated

If oyu don't have a linux partition then don't use grub. Just replace the mbr with "fdisk /mbr" or "fixmbr" depending on your windows version.

ok thx i got it but one more q when it starts it comes to a cpromt any idea how to fix that i no this is a linux fourm but just wondering if u new any thing about it

There is probably nothing to fix - maybe it's just DOS that;s installed.
