If you're running Gnome or KDE, I think that should be in their Control Panel. That's the simplest answer I can give you.

I had tried, and so while test goes all is perfect, but... in XMMS the sound goes throught onboard sound and not throught PCI
6 Chanal...
I'm dying...

The best way is to disable the onboard sound via the bios. Sometimes even that doesn't work, but give it a try.

open the case, on the mother board there is a jumper labeled 'audio_en'. move the jumper from 1&2 to 2&3, this will disable onboard sound.
