Dialin server Problem

Hi all

I configured Dialin server on RH 7.2 using PAP authentication.
When i Dial the server from linux client using PAP authentication, it is able to get connect but when i dial the server from Windows 95 or 98 client then at the client it gives the error "check you configuration and try again"

Kindly guide.Waiting for intelligent reply.

I had this problem before. All I did was use a different modem to correct the problem. I found that I could use a different modem on the client and it would work. I tried a different modem on the server and it worked okay after that.

i tried it by changing the modem at the client end but it did'nt work.

how does it sound?

Mine sounded like it was not going to work when I had a problem. The tone sounded more like a solid tone than data.

I tried using a older pcmcia modem on the client and it worked. My newer soft modem would not work.
