Exclamation SOLVED: Cannot Emerge Fonts! (modular X) Gentoo

I am posting here because no one in Gentoo's forums seems to be able to help.
I have tried every FAQ, article, and post I can reach via google and nothing helps.

I sucessfully emerged X11R7/Xorg and got the ATI drivers to work, however every time I try to start X it cannot find any fonts and crashes. But this is a tangental issue. The fix was to re-emerge all the fonts, but when I tried I get this error message:

#emerge media-fonts/font-misc-misc
...
4x6.bdf /usr/share/fonts/util/map-ISO8859-1 ISO8859-1
make: 4x6.bdf: command not found
make: *** [4x6-ISO8859-1.bdf] Error 127
make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.

!!! Error media-fonts/font-misc-misc failed.
Call stack:
ebuild.sh, line 1531: Called dyn_compile
ebuild.sh, line 931: Called src_compile
ebuild.sh, line 1240: Called x_module_src_compile
x-modular.eclass, line 317: Called x_modular_src_make
x-modular.eclass, line 312 Called die

Does anyone have any clue how to fix this issue (I have an AMD64 system, otherwise stable besides modular X and nethack--but I don't think that could be the problem )

I would try revdep-rebuild
Its in the gentoolkit package.
emerge -p gentoolkit
emerge -av gentoolkit
revdep-rebuild
worth a shot

Fixed problem by re-emerging media-font/font-util Turns out about half the character maps weren't installed. Go figure.
