Please help. Gentoo: Emerge gentoo-dev-sources fails

this is my first time installing gentoo and im trying to emerge the 2.6 kernel sources gentoo-dev-sources. When i do i get this error.

Error: you are cross compiling
Please Use the '--host=" option

Error: Dev-libs/ucl-l.010r1 failed

Function econf, line 365, exitcode1
econf failed.

I have no clue what to do with this. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

There is this line in the manpage of make.conf.

CHOST This variable is passed by the ebuild scripts to the configure
step as --host=${CHOST}. This way you can force the build-host.
