Hello, everybody!
I need to build a very specialized linux live cd which would have to have ONLY the software I need. I only need the kernel, X11, a window manager and some additional software on it. Remastering an existing distribution seems not to be a good way to do this as I would have to remove a ton of software which I wouldn't need anyway.
So how would you start making such a live cd distribution? I'm thinking of two options:
The Linux Live Scripts and
LFS. LFS seems to be a great way to gain some understanding on how Linux actually works, but how easy is it to make a Live CD out of a LFS system? The Linux Live scripts seem pretty automated and flexible, but I'd also like to know what's actually going on, not just running some scripts.
Which way do you recommend, or do you have any more ideas? I have a plenty of experience with Linux and have successfully remastered a few distros.
P.S. Is this in the right subforum? If not, this can be moved.
