(beginner question!) Accessing USB external harddrive through GNOME
I want to access files on my external harddrive through GNOME, beyond plugging it into my computer via USB I have no idea what to do next..
I think it has something to do with a mount point or the 'mount' command...
to summarise, my question is how can I access extern. HardD through GNOME?

just go to "removable devices" from the dropdown menu on the system tray or else open home folder and you will see "devices" on the uppermost part of sidebar on the left....
it will tell you if your usb disk is already mounted.
If yes, then just use cd to go into it, and from there I suppose you'll know what to do (ls, etc ...)
