beeping server


Hello,

server:redhat4, 2 high point rocketraid 1820a & 8 drives

I was hoping if somebody come accross the same error message below. the server is still up and running however it started beeping yesterday.


IAL: Completion error adapter 1, channel 6, flags 104
ATA regs: error 40, sector count 8, LBA low c4, LBA mid 8e, LBA high 8f, device 4b, status 51
Too many retries on channel 6
auto rebuild
scsi error!<2000> retrun code=0x25050000
end_request: I/O error dev sdb sector 1163745727


I really appreciate any help thanks

"error 40" means you had a "media changed" error, which actually translates into a command specific error. "status 51" means the error bit was set because the command failed.

You probably have a bad drive and need to replace it. Since it was in a RAID array, I am assuming this will not be much of a problem.
