all permissions missing - no access to file at all

Dear Linuxeros,

I am not able to assign any permisions to files therefore I am not able to read those files. Chown and chmod does not work. Any ideas how to open those files/videos please?

Code:
drwx------ 2 majo users 0 Sep 17 12:42 ./
drwxrwxrwx 27 majo majo 0 Sep 17 12:37 ../

Use sudo for chown/chmod.

Hello hydrurga,

thanks, I was operating under the root:

chown -R 775 Revolta-Krnov-krst\ -snilek/
chmod a+r Revolta-Krnov-krst\ -snilek/ -R
chmod a+r *.MOV

It did not help.

I have copied new file into the directory and the new file has the same issues.

Ah, Habitual noticed what I did not, although it is in plain view. I refer you therefore to his answer.

I tried a workaround. I have copied out the files from the "impacted directory" to the new directory via command line and I am able to read the files now. Permissions are now assigned.
I have to delete the old directory now only.
