Just got a fresh copy of wine from CVS. Wineinstall does not work for me. It says that some fonts are missing and may result to invisible text, and it says that configuration has failed so I decided to do it manually instead.

configure
make depend
make
make install

But I am still uncomfortable and I don't know where wine is installed. I stored the sources on my home folder so I just uninstalled wine and moved the sources to /opt. Where should wine install anyway? I am also bothered of the invisible text that wineinstall said...

$ locate wine

The binaries are in /usr/bin while other supporting files and libs are in:

/usr/lib/wine
/usr/share/wine
/usr/share/fonts/wine
/usr/include/wine

You settings and fake windows drive are in ~/.wine

You can copy some windows fonts to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/fonts like arial, times, courier etc

A big thanks to you man. Now I got wine up and running, the only problem is how I will run my games with it. A little experimentation won't hurt, unless the system crash.
