None of the above because they are all for 6 year old versions of linux which no longer exist?

Q2 runs on linux if you change your mind. You compile it from source, its quite easy.
I got the two Mission Packs going too.

I tried compiling it from source here:

http://icculus.org/quake2/

But when I went to run it, it just gave me an error. Then I looked on this forum and found a precompiled binary. It did the same thing. Then I found one without Q2Max and it worked but the sound was really messed up. This is a lot of work for a really old game. Why is it so hard anyway? Unreal Tournament I just downloaded a file, popped in the CD and I was good to go.

AFI_Flame, the game is not messed up, all you need is to have a proper XF86Config-4 or Xorg.conf, if itīs the case.
Just do the following:

Look for the line with the following:

Option "omit xfree86-dga"

If it is uncoment, coment it:

# Option "omit xfree86-dga"

Also if you love Quake 2, you might whant to look at this page:

www.markshan.com/thesinraven

If you need more help, iīm ready to help, as other Quake 2 loverīs are.
Also Quake 2 runs in my opinion at least so good in linux as windoze version doo...
Enjoy.
