Cant install wolfenstein ET, I get this error during install:

"Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
GL_RENDERER: Mesa GLX Indirect

You are using software Mesa (no hardware acceleration)!
Driver DLL used: libGL.so.1
If this is intentional, add

What do you suppose this means and how do i fix this? Thanks

well i got outa X to try to install it, but I got kernal errors. Here is the log:

this means that the installer will need to compile a kernel interface for
your kernel.

files are installed, you may specify the kernel source path with the
'--kernel-source-path' commandline option.
ERROR: Installation has failed. Please see the file
'/var/log/nvidia-installer.log' for details. You may find suggestions
on fixing installation problems in the README available on the Linux
driver download page at www.nvidia.com."

Could this be because i have an XFX nvidia card, and not a straightforward nvidia?

Looks like the drivers you're trying are very old. Try these: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_d..._1.0-5336.html

To install the nvidia drivers, you'll want to make sure you have your kernel sources installed.

Then, once you've downloaded the driver from nVidia, chmod 755 it and then run it (ex: ./*.run)
Once it's successfully installed on your system, go into your X config file and replace 'nv' with 'nvidia'.
There are plenty of threads on this here, give a look around and you'll find them.
