Yesterday i finished my LFS 6.7 system after five days of work, it boots in under four seconds and use under 1GB of disk space, the memory footprint is about 20MB. The build went smooth without any problems at all, which i find quite amazing, as i typed everything manually and did not copy a single line from the book.
I think i learned a lot from the process, especially the workings of a Linux system, i am still a little unsure on the toolchain making, if i should make my own from scratch.
I would like to learn much more about toolchains and Linux system building. Can anyone recommend books or webpages on this? This build was my first, maybe i should also start from scratch again and understand more details from the second time?
I know the Gentoo guys used to have a "Stage 1" installer that would let you build-up the toolchain from the ground up. You might want to give it a shot if you're down with compiling.

Thanks, the feeling when first booting the system can't be explained, maybe a combination of deep fear and extreme euphoria
Great idea, i could take a look on the Stage 1 installation method also, even though it is not offically supported anymore, i could maybe learn something from that also.
