SuSE 9.0 GRUB SplashImage Help
I am trying to change the GRUB splashimage in SuSE 9.0. SuSE 9 appears to use a custom GRUB version as the splashimage is contained in a file called "/boot/message", not gzip'd *.xpm files. SuSE's version of GRUB also uses the command "gfxmenu (hd0,0) /boot/message" in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file. All of the instructions I've found on message boards so far for changing the GRUB splashimage say to use the command "splashimage (hd0,0)/boot/angel.xpm.gz" in the /boot/grub/menu.lst file, where angel.xpm.gz is the splash image to use. This does not work with SuSE 9.0.
Would installing the standard version of GRUB from the author's be the way to resolve this? I've really considered it but am wary as my file system is reiserfs and I'm not sure if I'd break the bootloader if I overwrite it with one that doesn't have reiser support...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
