Mandrake 9.1 - ssl and apache 2.0

Well, I guess the subject says it all for me. I have had an ongoing battle with the thsse 3 (mandrake, ssl, and apache) for some time. I've tried using the packages off the cd with 9.0, tweaking away - no luck. I tried downloading and building and tweaking - no luck. I then got a development box (Pentium 4), installed 9.1, with ssl and apache packages off the cd - no luck. My issue with using the packages off the cd is that I can not use the ssl directives in the apache config files (for 2.0, I am using Vhosts.conf to add virtual hosts). Restarting httpd generates "Invalid command 'SSLEngine'" error so I can only assume mod_ssl is not installed for Apache 2.0 although RPMDrake says mod_ssl is an installed package. So...do I have to download mod_ssl and/or openssl and build from scratch? Or is should I be able to get ssl running with apache 2.0 off the install cds? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for listening!

Try uninstalling all current apache packages and then get the latest patched releases from a mirror.

Want Apache running in SSL mode on Mandrake?

Simply start Mandrake with the "Linux-Secure" boot configuration.
