Thanks for backing me up guys. Listen i tried to install Mandrake 8.2 Beta and i would get the "No hdlists" error message right before the package installation. This isn't some brand new problem i just "made up" its happened to other people...

i justed wanted to say that i am
running 8.2 beta now and so far it
seems pretty nice. kde died in
a big way and the xserver was acting
wierd right after install, but i got it all
sorted out (i think) and i am pretty happy
with it. it is neat to play with.
i would recommend against trying the
update while you install thing they have
now as a new feature as it caused me
many problems. i had trouble with
the nvidia driver too, but like i said
it was all fixable and now it is all good.

update on beta8.2

Okay before I stated that it was kinda flaky which I am still leaning towards. But it was fixable. The upgrade choice did cause some erratic behavouir and I dont recommend it. But some issues like supermount works fine now. Not that i really cared. Some new packages that were towards the new release were included. Im still peeved about the gcc ver they gave (2.96 yuck). Hopefully they will update that because it is the source of some problems with packages. I currently have have a fresh install on my dell PII450 192M ram. it runs kinda smoothly after recompiling the kernel. Still have to look up the sound card (its a crystal ?) (its over my parents house and when i go there i keep forgetting to write it down. dumbass me Any way, It does look promising. I just have to wait for the finial release comes out and wait till some one else installs it...... yup im iffy about it. But then again i'll more than likely install it anyway. cheers.
P.S.
hope everyone has stopped the bickering and posting the usefull stuff so we can get on with our projects.
