Live Linux distro for burning mpg file to DVD disc

Can you recommend a Live Linux distro that:
* can burn an mpg movie
* to a USB external DVD drive
* does not need much hand-holding (from me)
* so that i can take the DVD disc and play it on any DVD player

There's probably a simpler solution for encoding an mpeg file to a DVD, so I'll keep looking

By the way, if any of the applications you require to do this are not on the live CD, you can still 'install' them and then run them without a problem (although the changes will not be written to the CD-ROM, but rather the applications will be stored in the RAM).
