Debian 3.1r5 and GUI

Hello All:

I have just installed my Debian 3.1r5 on a new MB, Intel D865GLC. It would not boot into the GUI. I surmised that Linux could not find an appropriate driver for the graphics built into the MB (I am not using a separate AGP card). Intel had no drivers for Debian Linux but did have drivers for Red Hat, Red Flag, SUSE and another. Can anyone tell me if any of these will work with Debian 3.1r5?
If I get a driver, how do I load it? I've tried "xfree86-config" but Bash just tells me its a "bad command". Does that mean my xfree86 program is incorrectly installed and not running?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Guv.

At this point it's not worth figuring out what the problem is. Version 3.1.5 Sarge is about to be replaced by version 4, Etch, and that's what you should be installing.
