xine audio problem

I'm trying to watch a movie, a .avi file in Kaffeine. It's configured to use the xine engine with ALSA. I haven't had any problems so far with this, but this movie is giving me toruble: the audio glitches, you can hardly hear what actors say, and every 3 seconds the audio makes a full stop and then continues.

I tryied watching this with xine-ui to have a full console report on what was going on, and I got this:

Code:
[...]
[mp3 @ 0xb6817928]incorrect frame size
invalid new backstep 540
[mp3 @ 0xb6817928]incorrect frame size
overread, skip -9 enddists: -3 -3
overread, skip -8 enddists: -3 -3
overread, skip -10 enddists: -1 -1
invalid new backstep 540
[mp3 @ 0xb6817928]incorrect frame size
overread, skip -7 enddists: -6 -6
invalid new backstep 540
overread, skip -8 enddists: -4 -4
[mp3 @ 0xb6817928]incorrect frame size
invalid new backstep 540
[mp3 @ 0xb6817928]incorrect frame size
overread, skip -7 enddists: -5 -5
overread, skip -5 enddists: -1 -1
overread, skip -7 enddists: -4 -4
invalid new backstep 540
overread, skip -5 enddists: -3 -3
overread, skip -6 enddists: -3 -3
[mp3 @ 0xb6817928]incorrect frame size
invalid new backstep 540
[mp3 @ 0xb6817928]incorrect frame size
overread, skip -5 enddists: -4 -4
[...]
and so on.

You would say: hey! that file is corrupt! The funny thing is... using mplayer I have no problem at all with this same file

Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with Gentoo but it sounds like you may need to add " libdvdcss " from videolan. Make sure you have your " w32codec " also.

In Suse you also have to remove "xine-lib" and install "libxine1". Here's the Suse sticky on there multimedia setup for xine http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=509097
