Upgraded Ubuntu now aMSN not working

I have finally upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04, and now my aMSN isn't working.

I originally had 7.04 installed, and performed a two stage (7.04 -> 7.10 -> 8.04) upgrade which went well. When I launch aMSN, I get "Loading TkCximage failed... Please compile aMSN first..."

Will just a simple recompile fix this, (and leave customisations)?

I would think so as long as you also upgraded the proper dev packages to do the job.
cheers,

I did a full update. Downloaded anything I could and installed it.

The funny thing is that I can launch it from console, but get the error only when launching from the menu.

Then delete it from the menu, go to menu editor, and enter the command you type in the terminal, and try again. Or make sure that, the menu launches THE SAME application you launch manually from terminal.

Thumbs up aMSN working again

I got it working after trying almost everything I could find on the problem.

In the end, I thought back to my windows days. Uninstall and reinstall. Works a treat.
