My daughter uses amsn to connect to msn. After doing a fresh installation of slackware 11.0 we are unable to use amsn. It seems to log in but as soon as the chat page comes up the program closes.
I am running aMSN and can confirm it does work with Slack 11. It could be you're missing a library. Try loading up a terminal and type amsn and return to see what (if any) errors are generated.
I've experienced the same problem with aMSN lately, I use cvs version so I expect problems, check amsn's forum, maybe you can spot something there. I'm in the middle of 10.2 and 11.0

That crash happens every now and then and I've not found any proper solution, the only workaround that has worked to me is to shutdown amsn, erase amsn's images cache and launch it back. It's not a version or svn problem and it has been doing it on me since several months and it doesn't get fixed up on new svn releases. Looks like a problem with libpng corruping avatars' cache.
To put it down more simple, erase these cache folders:
Hmm, I haven't seen this before. Please try the latest cvs version. Just grab it from the amsn page, untar, do ./configure && make and you can then run the amsn script in the same directory. Try with that and see if it works.
There's also the small possibility that there's a png bug triggered by certain images. I'm not sure if the libpng in the message is the one coming in the utils/TkCximage/src/png/ subdirectory.
