Problem with mp3


I am a newbie...I try to play mp3 with my openSuse 10.0. I use amarok and banshe but the result is the same. I import the file in the playlist and when I launch the song the player skip that with never error message...what can I do? Thank's in advance for your help!

You are probably missing some codecs (yes they are needed to play mp3 )

You can try installing them. If you are too paranoid, then try to play the file with mplayer and post the whole output here. (You will probably need to install mplayer too)

If I want to install only mp3 codec without Mplayer?

I try to install the lame codec but the problem is the same...the audio cd is correctly reproduced by my suse...now I try to install MPlayer!

Take a look at this thread if you want to enable multimedia stuff on opensuse. I wrote it for openSUSE 10.2, but it should work okay on Suse 10.0.
