MP3 problem

HELP!! I am using Fedora Core 1 and XMMS to play mp3's from an NTFS harddrive that i mounted. I installed the plug-in to be able to play mp3's and this worked for a while, but i did the fedora updates the other day and ever since then i am not able to play any of my mp3's. When i do try to play them it just appears that it is playing them extremely fast, but there is no time. What i mean by that is i can see the time left for each song running down at an incredibly fast speed when i try to play them. If anyone has any idea on what i could do to fix this it would be most appreciated!! thanks

You need to go to the properties section of xmms and look at the plugins. In the output you are probably using the diskwriter plugin (this also means you have a few .wav files in your home directory) Set the output pluging to esound or oss or whatever you want. It should work then.
