Mount options for KDE device notifier

Dear experts,

I'm using KDE 4.7.2 on OpenSuSE 12.1 I'm using the KDE device notifier to automount my USB devices. This works fine as long as I want to access the files as the currently logged on user. However, I want to be able to write to a USB disk (that's using the NTFS filesystem) as a user other then the currently logged on user.

I cannot find a way to set any of these options in the device notifier settings. Is there any way to accomplish this?

Kind regards,
Louis Wevers

If this thread is still valid, you probably want to add an entry to /etc/fstab in order to prevent your device from automounting, and allowing a different user to mount it. This might help you:

Thanks, yes, the thread is still valid. Though it isn't exactly what I had in mind, I believe this will be the best way to go, so I'll give it at try.

Regards,
Louis
