gnome, firefox 3.0.12, ask to open or download

most of the files are prompted for download.

could we config firefox to prompt for download or open?

It's in Preference -> Applications. It can be configured by file type.

i am using 3.0.14. it allows me to search and modify actions for existing types (only a few) but provides nothing to add new application type.

There was a firefox addon for this at:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4498

As you will see, that was for firefox 2.xx.

If you look at the reviews for the addon

you'll see that the addon has been modded so that it is compatible with firefox 3.0.xx.
