Thumbs down directory permission.

Hello.
I extracted "Tor Browser" on other system and copy the Tor directory on a new system but when I want to run "tor" it show me below error:

$ ./start-tor-browser.desktop
/usr/bin/env: ./Browser/execdesktop: Permission denied

I change the owner and mod via below commands :

$ chown jason -R Tor/
$ chmod -R g+w Tor/

But problem not solved.

Any idea?

You have to make the file executable.
chmod +x

Code:
sh ./start-tor-browser.desktop
and if/when that fails, open
start-tor-browser.desktop look for the Browser line and adjust.

Post the usual details.

You have an incredible talent for posting stuff but not communicating any useful info.

Code:
cd /home/jj/tor-browser_en-US
ls -lF
drwx------ 13 jj jj 4.0K Sep 29 2015 12:49 PM Browser/
-rwx------  1 jj jj 1.8K Sep 29 2015 12:49 PM start-tor-browser.desktop*
run it from the wrong location:
Code:
/home/jj/tor-browser_en-US/start-tor-browser.desktop
/usr/bin/env: ./Browser/execdesktop: No such file or directory
run it from the right location:
Code:
cd /home/jj/tor-browser_en-US/
./start-tor-browser.desktop
Make sure Browser directory is 700.
Class dismissed.

Your problem is not one of permissions or ownership. Your problem is that you try to run a .desktop file. Those files are purely descriptive, they are intended to be read and parsed, not to be run directly.
