compiz: GLX_SGIX_fbconfig is missing
compiz: Failed to manage screen: 0
compiz: No managable screens found on display :0.0

have you tried the command:
Code:
desktop-effects --replace
as suggested in your error message.

How about enabling them as a normal user and not root. I think there is a menu entry somewhere that allows you to do this.

I'm a bit of a newbie too, but does your graphics card support the kind of effects you're trying to enable?

well it's an ati 128 mb, looked smashing on windows. I'm pretty sure that it could handle the piddly little demands on compiz.

have you installed the ATI drivers from their website or are you just using the default drivers that come with FC6?
