Anyone know a sure-fired way to force a screen rotation?

I just finished up this 'all-in-one' kind of system I've been working on. The only place I had to mount the screen was the top of the case. I need the screen flipped, but I can't find a way to do this. I have found several settings to change it, but they are all grey'd out. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04, and out of solutions, and resources.

Above is a screencap of the problem. The "normal" drop down for the top window doesn't have any other options.

If you mean to work around the steps explained here:
http://tuxtweaks.com/2010/05/ubuntu-...tation-nvidia/
the xorg.conf file is blank. I still can't enable it to run an xrandr -o inverted command.

(I am using the nvidia driver)

edit the xorg.conf and add the screen res.
see the nvidia README for the 295 driver
http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8...DME/index.html
"Appendix B. X Config Options"
http://us.download.nvidia.com/XFree8...igoptions.html

or run "gnome-display-properties" as root
Code:
su -
gnome-display-properties
or sudo

or better yet run the nvidia gui tool as root
Code:
su -
nvidia-settings
and save the xorg.conf this makes to /etc/x11/xorg.conf( or your default location)
yum NEED to be root to do that
