can't adjust aspect ratio after screen rotation

Hi All, I'm running Fedora core1 on a fairly beat up PIII and wanted to change my screen orientatiion to portrait which I have successfully done (Xf86Config "rotate" "CW") but the aspect ratio has remianed in landscpe, leving me with an unusable portion of screen at the bottom of my monitor and work space off screen. Is there some way to change the aspect ratio to account for the change in orientation?

Any help greatly appreciated.
