Deeping 15.9 blank screen after return from suspension

Hi,

Just installed Deepin in my old laptop (HP Elitebook 8440p), It really gave this old laptop some new life. Deepin is beautiful and seems to work well so far.

One issue I ran into is when I go into power suspension mode by closing the screen, everything seems to be ok. When I open the screen again, I get a black blank screen. The computer seems to be working, but nothing is shown on the screen. The only way I can get Deepin back is by power cycle the laptop.

Here are some information on my system:

Nvidia GT218M [NVS 3100M]

I think most likely the culprit is the driver for that graphic card above. I get the following when I run the nvidia-detect on console:

root@Deepin-Monkey:~# nvidia-detect
Detected NVIDIA GPUs:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: NVIDIA Corporation GT218M [NVS 3100M] [10de:0a6c] (rev a2)

Checking card: NVIDIA Corporation GT218M [NVS 3100M] (rev a2)
Your card is only supported up to the 340 legacy drivers series.
It is recommended to install the
nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver
package.

Any idea how to install the nvidia-legacy driver above?

Has anyone seen this issue before? Any idea how to fix it?

Thanks!

On some distro's the answer is to set the suspend to 'never'. Not sure if that will fix it for you.

You will most likely have to download the driver and install it. The driver is at the bottom of this page. See at the bottom of the page where it says amd64 that's for a 64-bit pc and the other 2 are for a different platform and a single core i386. Just download the one that is right for your computers architecture.

It should look something like this:
Code:
nvidia-legacy-340xx-driver_340.107-4_amd64.deb
You can use dpkg -i to install the driver or look up how to install packages on Debian in a google search.
