Unless you're blinded by "necessary evil," liking drama and murder-porn makes you no worse than anyone... living in his world: Sinatra, not a Pod,,, "Oops, there goes another problem, ker-plop."
Gather 'round cats 'n chicks I have a huge surprise for y'all.
I finally finished upgrading my PC sound system with the purchase of a Klipsch 12" powered subwoofer that replaces a Polk Audo 10 incher. Fired it up and got scared to death! Yes the extreme bottom was a LOT stronger but it sounded kinda "fluffy", not punchy and clear. Did I make a serious mistake? Oh noes!
SO... I went searching for some extremely well recorded audio to get a baseline test. I, like most of us I suppose, have gotten so used to the crappy, lossy codecs used on most YouTube music that I had forgotten just how much is lost in "lossy". After I checked a few audiophile quality, lossless streams and recordings out, the one linked below seemed the best so far. I even tried it out on another PC with a substantially lesser sound card and a pair of crappy Dell desktop speakers. Even THEY sounded 10x better!
Trust me this is serious ear candy. Check this out!
I wrote all this and now I think I have already told the story... whatever. I learned that a great man had died in December 2019. Not that it surprises me, he was 94.
I played something awkward (and still do not know what, about 35 years later!). He said: “Play an '*', please”. I was at a loss, as the tone he asked for was that of the 'a' in 'bad' or the e in 'end'... I could not figure it out and just played an 'e'. He stared at me and said: “you go to which school?”. I told him.
“So.., you are not completely dull, are you?”. I played an 'a' and he appeared to consent.
