I'm glad to see/hear Soul hasn't withered away in 2020. Some still love The Real Nitty Gritty.

I discover music which I have succeeded to ignore for too long.
  • Suad Massi - Any song. E.g.: Pays Natal (French), Rani Rayha (Kabylic)
  • Pomme, who I ignored actively because she had been mentioned too often. Now, my niece played one of her records and I had to listen... What's wrong with me... À peu près, De là haut, Les Séquoias and all the rest is just mandatory, too.

Warning! There is a risk of melody. You can whistle these songs. You have been war[nm]ed.

I Like Trains - The Truth
This band has made some pretty boring music in the past, but the track is great. Slightly disturbing video, too.
Quote:
The truth is an unnamed source
The truth is not available for comment at this time
The truth is an infinite playlist
The truth is not what you expected
The truth has over one hundred million views
The truth is unverified and unverifiable
But it is the truth if I say it is
The truth will not be televised
The truth is we're no longer sure it is my voice on those recordings
The truth is a sinking ship
The truth is a moot point
Cry me a river!

The truth is hidden in a complex series of offshore companies
The truth is encrypted
The truth is a cold shower
The truth is I don't know what I'm doing and I've been scratching around for some way to say it
The truth is a liquid lunch
The truth is your privacy is important to us
The truth is all of the above
Delete as applicable

Also nice: Melenas.

Thank you. I love very much your suggestions!!

It reminds me Mylène Farmer whose lyrics were something new and daring in the 80s and 90s.

Concerning my previous post, above (5169 for your eyes).

When I have time to get lost on YouTube, it usually terminates with something like “Crisis”. Total Crisis. To finally buy a new guitar looks like a pointless endeavor. What for? People are enthusiastic about this Mark-Knopfler-video where he gets carried away while explaining “guitars”. I begin to feel sad about it. The young people who find Pomme and many other such new and gifted artists, in France or elsewhere, could provoke optimism. I am insensitive. It doesn't work.

Music. Here is Christina Lux. AFAIK, she played a lot with different international musicians. About the time I left Germany, she had not been very known as a solo artist. Maybe this has changed in the meantime, in view of her presence on YouTube. I won't play Jackie Leven, now, just because he would fit in. But it is (in deed) raining again.

I'd rather bring in those potatoes and onions which were expecting dry weather.

Malaria! - Kaltes Klares Wasser
Malaria: Your Turn to Run

One of those bands that are not easy to find online, or digital.

Youtube channel.

I know Gudrun Gut did more good stuff later.
Wir bauen eine neue Stadt
Unfortunately there's a very stupid tendency to sing the lyrics in German once, then in English once.

What I was actually looking for was „Da Popst” (The pope) by Les Derhosn :
Da Popst hot gsogt mer brauch'n mehra Kinda
Mia brauchen mera Neger un mer brauchen mera Inder
Un Deutsche brauch'mer fuil mehr weil Deitsche wären guat
Weil a Deutscha so schen in Oa*** kriacha duat.

^ "Die besten sterben jung doch dafür ist es jetzt zu spät" - ha! "wir waren nie die besten doch dafür hamwa überlebt".

I love combining humour with music, but never have very much to offer myself.
So thanks for this.

Me:
Quote:
Once a boy named Mr. Me bemoaned a great regret
I've floundered in the misty sea
But can't abide its mystery
I wound up sad, you bet

So onward go and Edward Ho into the bounding main
Enjoy the show, look out below
But mind the misty sea
Or end up sad like Mr. Me

He ended up sad, he ended up sad
He ended up really, really, really sad

So take the hand of Mr. Me and mister, make him glad
To swim the Mr. Misty Sea
And cease the Mr. Mystery
That mister, made him sad

He ended up sad, he ended up sad
He ended up really, really, really sad
Or:

Dragon (Hunter) - Dreams of Ordinary Men

At that time I had not even known that Tommy Emmanuel was actually Tommy Emmanuel; although I had bought the record for what I had seen and heard of him on German TV. Australia has always been too far away to identify individuals.
